  (B) Kerala ganangal

This patriotic song on Kerala was the inspiration for the freedom fighters during the first half of the century. At a time when India was struggling to regain freedom from Britain's rule.

The song in praise of the motherland was written by Kesava Pillai popularly known as Bodheshwaran. Himself a freedom fighter, Bodheshwaran was also an outstanding journalist of his time, a poet and a socio-political as well as spiritual leader.

A few of his patriotic works are Kerala ganam, Sahikayo dasyam, Bharatha bheri, a poetry collection called Thiranjedutha kavithakal etc.

Listen to this song, which is dedicated to our motherland, on the first of November - the day Kerala was born.
