Venue: Parthasarathy Temple, Adoor in Pathanamthitta district

Coming February, enjoy the magnificent spectacle of Gajamela (elephant pageant) at the Parthasarathy Temple in Adoor. The Gajamela is part of the ten-day annual celebration held at the temple. Commonly called by the name Adoor Gajamela, this pageant would have about nine elephants caparisoned. Thousands of people throng the temple premises to witness this extraordinary spectacle. Parthasarathy Temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna, who is also known as Parthasarathy - the charioteer of Parthan. Partha is another name of Arjuna, who is one of the five Pandava princes in the epic Mahabharata.

Nearest railway station: Chengannur, about 25 km away.
Nearest airport: Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, about 92 km away.
