Deepavali (Diwali) or the festival of lights is a fascinating festival of India. The festival is celebrated in commemoration of the slaying of the demon Narakasura by Lord Krishna.
In Kerala, the festival is celebrated with much fanfare in certain regions. Deepavali celebrants wear new dress, light up homes and streets with oil lamps and share sweets.
