Dr. John Llewellyn and Mr. Koos van der Zee; both are attached to the British High Commission in New Delhi and works there as
Regional Medical Adviser and Club Business Manager respectively. Kerala Tourism came across these gentlemen in Kochi during
their maiden visit to Kerala.
During the course of the talk about their visit to Kerala, they shared with us their interest in boating. While John was a
keen canoeist and part of an enthusiastic canoeing group, Kooz's passion was with yachts.
They both felt the friendly approach of the Kerala people as an encouraging factor for travelers visiting Kerala. To them,
one of the impressive aspects with regard to place like Kochi was the hustle and bustle of the city merging with lot of
greenery, backwaters and canals.
Since their first visit to Kerala was a short one, both John and Kooz are looking forward to their next visit to Kerala,
during which they would try to realize their individual boating passions in Kerala.
In their opinion, Kerala definitely holds great potential in developing aquatic sports, unlike other states of India. John
and Kooz identified flat water canoeing on the backwaters of Kerala as an ideal choice for visitors to Kerala, and firmly
believe that there is a good market for boats and related equipment in Kerala.
