At first we were a bit reluctant to interrupt the Halls, when we walked in for a tete-a-tete with them in the courtyard of the Brunton Boat Yard Hotel in Fort Kochi, which reflects Dutch and Portuguese architectural styles. The Halls were enjoying their evening cuppa, but to our surprise were delighted to have us for company. 

Hailing from Switzerland, Mr. Peter Hall and his wife Ms. Helena have found out Kerala to be a destination that they can enjoy time and again. Of the two, Mr. Hall had been to India many times, but this was the first visit for both to Kerala.

According to Mr. Hall, Kerala is a refreshing experience; it has much to offer for its visitors, lot of places to relax and it is also a place that allows one to take things easy.

The Halls had been to many destinations in Kerala, but they were all praise for the exhilarating cruise on the backwater stretch in Alappuzha. To them, Kerala has got many attractions, but nothing outshines the other, because each has its own unique charm, which few destinations can boast of.

Acclimatized to the temperate and cold weather conditions of Europe, the Halls did not mind the hot humid weather conditions in 'God's Own Country,' especially Mrs. Hall, who immediately developed a liking for the weather in Kerala. 

Mrs. Hall's visit to Kerala basically stems from her interest in Ayurveda, which she would like to learn more through her interactions with a cross section of people. In her words "throughout our visit to different parts of Kerala, we were delighted by the friendly behaviour of the local people, with an easy smile on their faces, which would never go away from our memory." 

As to the next visit, even though they have enjoyed the backwaters and different types of cuisine, next time the Halls would be keen to explore more of the Western Ghats and also the countryside.
