A tour operator from Egypt, Mr.
Tamer Waba looked very keen to have an update on Kerala's tourism potential, so
that he can promote the destination among his clients back home in Egypt. We
caught up with Mr. Waba on a houseboat berthed adjoining the venue, on his
rounds during the last edition of Kerala Travel Mart.
He turned out to be a man of few words; unusual for a tour operator, but in the
end we had to acknowledge his ability to put across his thoughts in few words
that convey a lot. Even though Mr.Waba feels that Kerala as a tourist
destination needs to have more elements of entertainment, it holds abundant
promise to become a global destination.
Mr.Waba is basically looking at Kerala as a destination for shopping,
rejuvenation and to enjoy the nature. He says 'the natural setting was up to my
imagination, and I find it ideal for honeymooners'.
The mountains and tea plantations here are refreshing, so is the case with the
food, says Mr. Waba. He said he had a good time trying out a combination of fish
and rice and also the biriyani. And last, but certainly not the least, the
people out here are also very impressive, Mr.Waba said.
