Who would
not love to visit Switzerland, at least once in a lifetime? And those
who can afford would make it as their home for the rest of their
life. But for Hans Muller, a management consultant by profession and
his wife thought otherwise. They decided to leave Switzerland, their
home for good part of their lives in search of another paradise,
which would offer them a lifestyle that will augur well for their
well-being and also fulfil Mr.Muller’s intense desire to stay
close to the sea.
Mr.Muller said that their quest with
sufficient guidance and help from friends and well-wishers finally
bore fruit and in 1995 he flew down to Kerala; a name the Mullers
were hearing for the first time. Since his top priority was for his
health, the name ‘Ayurveda’ immediately caught his
attention and today he and his wife are ardent followers of
India’s holistic healthcare system, which Mr.Muller has plans
to popularise earnestly to people from all parts of the world,
especially those from western countries.
Settled in Varkala
the abode of the great seer Sri Narayana Guru and close to the
pristine, golden sandy beach of Varkala, Mr.Muller says that he felt
absolutely at home the very moment he touched his feet on
“God’s Own Country” a feeling he himself admits as
quite amazing and could not express in words. He has only words of
praise on the physical and cultural aspects of Kerala, but is very
much concerned about the manner in which the state’s culture,
traditions, history and its bountiful natural wealth are portrayed to
the outside world. According to Mr.Muller, all that is needed is to
treat tourists coming to Kerala in a manner that do not keep them
alienated from the denizens of the state and thereby ensuring an
everlasting impression and emotional bondage with this immaculate
land and its people.
Mr.Muller since his tryst with Kerala in
1995 is a busy man these days with his time and energy effectively
spend for consultancy for tourism projects and also runs an institute
at Varkala for young talents to come up in life and join the
mainstream.
