Gundu Island

Gundu Island is the smallest in the Kochi region, spread over an area of about five acres. Accessible only by boat from Vypeen, it was in 1967 that the island was declared as part of Kochi. Popular for its idyllic ambience, the island is swarmed by visitors clamouring to soak in its gentle breeze and pristine surroundings. The only building located on the island belongs to a privately owned coir factory that produces ropes and carpets with handmade looms. The island is a charming combination of rolling waves, enchanting scenery and a tranquil atmosphere.
