Location: 70 km from Thiruvananthapuram
The spectacular cone-shaped Agasthyarkoodam Peak in the Western Ghats, which rises to a majestic height of about 1868 m, is a haven of rare herbs and medicinal plants. 

The aborigines here dislike the presence of strange women because they believe that the mythological sage Agasthya, who is supposed to have lived in the forest, was a confirmed bachelor.

It is accessible only on foot, with 61 km of trekking from Bonacaud, and 32 km from Neyyar Dam.
