Cultural Tours

This cultural tour is focused on the great scholar Kunhikuttan Thampuran and the freedom fighter Mohammed Abdul Rahman Sahib.

Kunhikuttan Thampuran: This great scholar lived from 1865 to 1913. His father was Venmony Aphan Namboothiri. Kunhikuttan Thampuran was a poet, historian, essayist and journalist. He translated the Epic Mahabharatha within a short period which demonstrated his amazing in-depth knowledge of Sanskrit and Malayalam. His literary contribution includes numerous poems in Sanskrit and Malayalam, translations, essays and satires.

Mohammed Abdul Rahman Sahib: He was a renowned freedom fighter. During this tour, visitors may visit the museum which has been set up at his house. The structure of this house is interesting as it has a traditional courtyard at the centre with verandahs on three sides.
