Lifestyle Museum – Paliam Nalukettu

This traditional structure was built by the elder members of the Paliam family in 1786, for the women and minor boys of Paliam. It was in this Nalukettu that the Paliam family settled after shifting from Vanneri to Chendamangalam. It has a big courtyard at the centre with rooms surrounding it and a Purathalam, where the members gathered for recreation and conversation. A traditional Lifestyle Museum is proposed to be established in this building.

Paliam History Museum – Paliam Palace

In the 16th Century A.D., the Paliath Achan, the prime minister of Cochin, ensured the safety of the Raja by escorting him to this palace in Chendamangalam. The Dutch, in honour of the Paliath Achan’s services, renovated his building and presented it to him. He used it as his official residence, where a lot of major decisions were made and put into action. A Paliam History Museum has been proposed in this palace.

Museum on Kerala Jews – Paravur

It is believed that 10 Jewish families released from imprisonment by a Persian king in 605 B.C. came to Kodungalloor and gradually established a community. This is the place of worship of the jewish community that settled very close to the Paravur Market. The synagogue dates back to 1615 and is claimed to be built on the ruins of a synagogue that was built in 1165. a museum about the jews in Kerala is being plannes in this Synagogue.
