This island near the Kochi harbour mouth is famous for the Bolgatty Palace built by the Dutch in 1744. It was later taken over by the British. Nowadays, this imposing palace is a luxury hotel, run by the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation. The palace-hotel complex has honeymoon cottages and also a mini golf course.
