Introduction
Tourism in Kerala has become one of the fast growing, high income and employment generating sectors. Realising the importance of tourism in stimulating the overall development of the country, Government of Kerala have declared tourism as an industry in 1986. The private sector has a major role in tapping the resources of Kerala such as its cultures, heritage, natural vegetation, beaches, backwaters, hills, wildlife etc, and providing the infrastructure support for the development of tourism in the State. To motivate the private entrepreneurs in the field of tourism, the Government has been offering various incentives and subsidies from time to time.
As per G. O. (P) No. 224/86/GAD. Dated 11-7-1986, Amusement Parks approved by Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala are eligible for the concessions, incentives as applicable to the industrial sector. But so far no guidelines have been formulated for the approval of these centres by the State Government. This scheme intends to propose certain guidelines for the approval of Amusement Parks in the State.
Eligibility
Amusement Parks - This may include Amusement Parks, Theme Parks, Children’s Park or Water Parks.
How to apply
Amusement Parks desiring to get classification should apply online to the Department of Tourism.
Fee
A payment of Rs. 6250/- as Application Fee per amusement park has to be done online while submitting the application
