Feast at Elanji Forane Church

Venue: Elanji Forane Church

Location: Elanji

Built in the 14th CE, the Elanji Forane Church is dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul. Believed to be constructed as per the orders of the then Vadakumcoor king, the church was built on the land donated by a believer.

The feasts of St. Peter and St. Paul, darshana tirunal of Mother Mary and the novena of the apostles are the major feasts at the Elanji Church. The feasts of St. Peter and St. Paul are celebrated twice a year; that is on the 28th and 29th of June and on the last Sunday and Monday of November. Splendid, colourful processions and special prayers are what make this festival spectacular.
