Kerala Tourism has made its presence felt in 'Vakantiebeurs 2017', the biggest tourism trade fair in Netherlands, showcasing its remarkable backwater village and Ayurveda treatment. The 47th edition of the fair saw Kerala debut with a pavilion themed on 'Slow Down in God's Own Country'.
With 18 sqm pavilion space, Kerala Tourism along with 3 co-exhibitors from Kerala participated in one of the most renowned trade fairs. The delegation was led by Mr. Anil V.S., Deputy Director, Marketing, Kerala Tourism. Kumarakom Lake Resort, Pioneer Personalized Holidays and Spiceland Holidays were the co-exhibitors at the fair.
The pavilion helped showcase the immense tourism potential of the state apart from impressing upon the high-profile visitors the charm of Kerala. The community took notice of the state as the impressively decked up pavilion spiked the interest of several tour companies.
Mr. J.S. Mukul, Hon. Ambassador of India to Netherlands, and Mr. J.H.C Van Zeen, Hon. Mayor of Utrecht, visited the Kerala pavilion.
With 22,276 tourist arrivals in 2015, Netherlands is the 11th biggest originating market for Kerala Tourism. There has been a 40% growth in 2015 when compared to the tourist arrivals in 2010.
The Vakantiebeurs tourism market is a highly noted event in tourism sector and is held every year in the second week of January at Utrecht.
