Malappuram District

Malappuram adorns the Northern regions of Kerala as a prominent bastion of some the finest cultural and natural traits that the God's Own Country is renowned for. Enter and you are greeted by endless sea coasts, picturesque streams, thick forests and some of the most historical locations in all of Kerala. Fed by three major rivers - River Chaliyar, River Kadalundi and River Bharathapuzha, it has a plethora of trails and picnicking spots for all visitors. In 1969, the district of Malappuram was formed and included the altered four taluks of Ernad, Perinthalmanna, Tirur and Ponnani. It is renowned for its cultural vibe, with many of the important sites to all of the major religious groups of the country lying here.
