| Poonjar palace |
![]() |
The adobe of the kings of the erstwhile Poonjar kingdom. The palace is now a museum of royal artefacts like a palanquin, a droni carved out of a single piece of wood used for Ayurvedic treatment, weapons, statues and grain measures. There are also elaborate chandeliers, jewel boxes and sculptures. Near the palace, there is a wonderful replica of the Madurai Meenakshi temple. There is also a Sastha temple with rows of lamps carved out on stone walls. |
