Situated at Nedumangad a few kms east of Thiruvananthapuram, the Koyikkal palace is built in the Nalukettu (four sided) style of the old aristocratic buildings. The double storeyed palace now houses a folklore museum and a numismatics museum set up by the state department of Archaeology. The folklore museum has a collection of interesting ancient musical instruments, work tools and household utensils including wooden kitchenware.
