Pakal Pooram, in a frame
Presented here is a shot from the Pakal Pooram festival, a recap of the grand Thrissur Pooram, which is held the day after the original event. The Pakal Pooram is called the Pooram for, Thrissur residents, and the highlights of the original Pooram festival like Kudamattam (display of colourful parasols) and elephant pageantry are repeated in this festival as well. The scene presented here is that of the elephants of Paramekkavu and Thiruvambadi temples saluting the deity.
