Overview

The trail experience

Balaramapuram is a place where weaving is not simply a craft but part of the rhythm of everyday life. For more than two centuries, its handloom tradition has been shaped by royal patronage, generations of skilled weavers and the streets where the craft continues to live and work. From the preparation of yarn to the rhythm of the loom, from small local enterprises to the food made in its homes, this trail follows the threads that connect craft, community and place.

Walk its streets. Follow the thread. Meet the makers. Taste the tradition. Balaramapuram - a living handloom heritage, where the story begins with a thread and ends with something made by hand.
