Mazholsavam - The celebration of rain

It is a flagship program of Vayali Folklore Group, partner of Responsible Tourism Mission’s Nila Project. This year’s Mazholsavam is being held at Cheruthuruthy in the ambiance of a traditional house.

Mazholsavam program started way back in 2017 at old Kerala Kalamandalam (Vallathol Smathy), as an event to cherish the beauty of rain along with the social consciousness of River Nila (Bharathapuzha).

This year Mazholsavam is a two day event happening on July 13 and 14. The programs in pipeline are the Sessions on Rain and Films, Screening of films related to Rain and its eternal beauty, Music compositions connects with Rain, Storytelling sessions, experience sharing sessions, special sessions for kids and the young generation.

Another major highlight is the Rain walk, introduced last year, offers to relish the traditional karkkidakam foods (rainy season foods) in the region.
