1. ARRIVE KOCHI Arrive Cochin International Airport. Meet & transfer to Fort Kochi. Rest of the Day at Leisure
2. KOCHI / MUNNAR After Breakfast, drive to Munnar – En-route visit Athirappally Water Falls. Rest of the day at Leisure Your journey into the deep south begin with your arrival in Cochin, where you will be met for a transfer to Munnar. Famous for its tea estates, this picturesque hill station is the biggest tea producer in south India. Located 1,600 m above the sea level, it was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British government in the region. The sprawling tea plantations, quaint towns, winding lanes and holiday facilities make this a popular resort destination. After you check in, you have the rest of the day to spend at your leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
3. MUNNAR Full day exploring Munnar & seeing Neelakurunji flower at full bloom This full day is kept aside for visiting different spots to see Neelakurunji flower. Evening return to hotel. Rest of the day at Leisure. Neelakurinji (Strobilanthes kunthiana) is a Shrub that is found in the Shola forests of the Western Ghats in South India. Nilgiri Hills which literally means the blue mountains, got their name from the purplish blue flowers of Neelakurinji that blossoms only once in 12 years. The flower with 40 odd varieties bloom mostly in shades of blue, and thus in its name Neela in the local language stands for the colour blue and Kurinji the local name for the flower.
4. MUNNAR Half Day sightseeing of Munnar including tea plantations & tea museum visit - Afternoon free at leisure After a hearty breakfast, begin your day with a spot of sightseeing. On the agenda are the Eravikulam National Park, the natural habitat of the Nilgiri Tahr, a kind of ibex; the Mattupetty Dam; Echo Point and the wonderful sights of the town itself. Afternoon enjoy 03 hrs Jeep Ride to explore the unexplored Munnar. Then you head back to the hotel for a hot dinner! This is the second and last night at Munnar, after which you proceed to the next destination.
5. MUNNAR / THEKKADY Drive to Thekkady (Wild life Sanctuary).. Afternoon spice tour followed by Elephant interaction (bathing, feeding, elephant ride etc) After breakfast, you have a busy day of travel ahead of you. Today, you will leave for Thekkady, the venue of the famous Periyar (Thekkady) Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the most well-maintained wildlife sanctuaries of south India. Spread out over an area of 777 sq km, the sanctuary boasts of a splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar dam across the Periyar river, which adds to the charm of the park. This is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing wildlife at close quarters as you cruise along the lake in the confines of a boat. Once you reach, check in at hotel for the night. Evening free to enjoy a short trek into the fragrant spice plantations. Later visit Elephant camp for Elephant Interaction involving bathing, feeding & short elephant ride. Overnight at hotel.
6. THEKKADY / HOUSEBOAT Morning game view boating at Periyar Lake. After breakfast drive to Kumarakom to board Houseboat & cruise towards Alappuzha Early morning enjoy game view boating at Periyar Lake. Later Return to Hotel for Breakfast & then start your journey to the backwaters. Alappuzha, the home of the much-vaunted backwaters of Kerala. You have a surprise awaiting your arrival – a stay on a houseboat for an overnight cruise through the scenic backwaters of Alleppey! It’s a journey that holds out much promise: cruising through palm-fringed canals; watching people at work in the paddy fields; relaxing on board as you are lulled into comfort by the sounds of the wind and waves. Cruise till the evening, by which time the houseboat halts in the lake for overnight stay
7. HOUSEBOAT / ALAPPUZHA Check out Houseboat at Ourland Island (Bird Watching, Village walk, fishing, narrow canal cruise etc) Disembark Houseboat at Ourland, a six acre island backwater property in the midst of nature. Tucked away in the backwaters of Kerala is Our Land, a panacea for the soul. An island getaway from the rigmarole of daily life, Our Land sits in an island of tranquillity to the south of Alappuzha, surrounded by green paddy fields fringed with coconut palm, bamboos and banana trees that stretch as far as the eye can see. Later in the day engage in different activities at Ourland including Bird Watching, Village Walks, Fishing & Narrow canal cruises. Overnight at Ourland
8. ALAPPUZHA / KOCHI Drive to Cochin – En-route visit Fort Kochi & Mattacherry (Heritage, Museum, Chinese Fishing net etc). After sightseeing check in at Hotel for rest. Evening transfer to Kathakali Center for viewing Kathakali performance. Later transfer back to hotel. Check out Ourland & drive to Kochi, en-route visit Fort Kochi & Mattancherry Area. The older parts of Fort kochi and Mattancherry have an unlikely blend of medieval Portugal, Holland and also of an English country village grafted on the Tropical Malabar Coast – a radical contrast to the bright lights of mainland Ernakulam. You will be taken to the St. Francis Church constructed by Portuguese – said to be India’s oldest European built church, Mattancherry Palace where the astonishing murals depicting stories from Ramayana, Mahabharatha and Puranic legends are seen. Next stop is at Paradesi Jewish Synagogue, originally constructed in 1568. Later visit Chinese fishing nets area.
9. KOCHI DEPARTURE Check out at 1200 hrs. Day free for shopping. In time transfer to Cochin Airport for Departure Check out & keep luggage at the hotel concierge. Rest of the day is at leisure or for shopping by own. Or pick up at 1400 hrs from the hotel & drop at Lulu Mall, later in time transfer to Kochi Airport for departure flight directly from Lulu Mall.
