About the Institution

Though the centre was established in 1973, by the veteran artist P. K. Gopalan Nair, many years before him a training system in Padayani and Velakali was existed in the same place. Now the centre offers courses in both Velakali and Padayani, without scheduling them in a proper format. In every Bharani day of Kumbham month the centre conducts Padayani performance in the Bhagavathi Kavu Temple.
