About the Institution
Margi aims at preserving and propagating Kerala's classical arts, such as, Kathakali and Koodiyattom, by providing Gurukula (in house) system of training. Differed from regular courses, the centre conducts short-term courses for interested foreigners. The Margi trust established in 1974, manages training of Koodiyattom and Kathakali at two different centres of Thiruvananthapuram – viz, Fort and Valiyassala. The centre is affiliated with Government of India Cultural Department and Central Sangeetha Nataka Academy.
