Njandu Thoran or Crab Thoran


Njandu Thoran or Crab Thoran is a popular Malabar dish.

Ingredients
Fresh Crab         -     1
Chilli Powder        -     1 ½ tsp
Turmeric Powder    -     ½ tsp
Pepper powder    -     1 tsp
Coconut oil        -      2 tbs
Chopped onion        -     1
Grated green chilli    -     4
Garlic            -     4
Chopped Tomato    -     1
Salt to taste
Scraped coconut    -     1 cup
Curry leaves        -     4 sprigs

Method of Preparation

Take the fresh crab in a large bowl and mix it with salt, turmeric powder and chilli powder. Heat some oil in a pan. Add chopped onion and grated green chilli into the oil. Stir well. Scraped coconut can now be added. Stir well. Add some crushed garlic into the mixture. Next, add chilli powder and curry leaves into it.

After stirring well add chopped tomato to the mixture. Add the masala mixed crab into the mixture. Close the pan and cook well. Once cooked, add pepper powder and curry leaves for extra taste. The delicious crab thoran is ready. Serve it hot.
