Kambara Nritham
The tribal community near Mananthavady in Wayanad District called Adiyaan have great respect for their agricultural practice, which they also celebrate in their own way. One such celebration in the form of dance and singing at the time of planting new rice plants in the paddy fields is called 'Kambara Nritham'. Nritham means dance. While men dance and sing around the paddy field, the women would be engaged in planting the new rice plants. Simple steps and circular movements accompanied by song and music rendered by wind instruments and percussions form part of this tribal dance form.
