Paripally Gajamela
The video shows the highlights of the Paripally Gajamela, the mega elephant pageant held as part of the annual festival at the Kodimootil Sree Bhadrakaali Temple at Paripally in south Kerala. About a 100 caparisoned elephants are lined up for the event. (Gajam is another word for elephant in Malayalam and Mela means fair.) Getting there: Nearest railway station: Kollam, about half an hour drive from Paripally. Nearest airport: Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, about 54 km from Paripally.
