Thelliyoor Vrischika Vaanibham

Thelliyoor Vrischika Vaanibham is a ten-day traditional trade fair, which starts on the first day of the Malayalam month of Vrischika (November-December). Thelliyoor is a small village blessed with lush greenery and cascading waterfalls in Pathanamthitta. This village is known for the temple dedicated to Goddess Kali, locally celebrated as Thelliyoor Kavilamma.

A centuries old trade fair, this is a fine blend of history, culture and devotion. This traditional fair throws light on the religious harmony and social solidarity present among simple folk, even before the social Renaissance movements in Kerala. This fair is rich with many household articles and agricultural tools that ardently mark the unique cultural heritage of Kerala. The ritualistic nature of the fair makes this stand apart from other fairs. Thousands of people visit Thelliyoor for worship and to participate in this fair. The sale of dried fish is a unique aspect of this fair.
