Nelliyampathy hills
Nelliyampathy is a very popular hill station in Palakkad district. Tourists ply up the hairpin curves to this stunning tourist destination in large number every day to savour the panoramic vistas they enjoy at various viewpoints of Nelliyampathy which is around 1500 metre above sea level. And if there is an adventurer in you, Nelliyampathy, you’d find soon, is a launching pad to other destinations deep into the woods. The long and arduous trek to places like Manpara and Kambamala are all rewarding experiences.
On the way to the destination, the first to catch your attention is the Pothundy dam at the foot of Nelliyampathy hills. Some of you who have come with your family won’t hurry, in climbing the hill hastily, for there are enough facilities to spend a whole day off at the dam site.

Visit to Pothundy dam: The Ghat road winds from the reservoir rising steadily with daunting hairpin curves. You find the view of the large expanse of water, Pothundy dam, following doggedly on your left in the valleys though shrinking in size with every turn you make up the hill. Trek to Pothumala & Seetharkundu: Up the rocks you climb, through tea and coffee plantations, or give the jeeps that dirty job if you’re the lazy kind. You are on your way to one of the most swooningly beautiful places in the whole of Palakkad - Seetharkundu. Jeep Safari to Pakuthipalam and Overnight Stay in forest lodge are the other highlights of the programme. Food is included in the package and the best time to visit is November - May last.
