At an altitude of 2500 m above sea level and tucked into the dark folds of Western Ghats, Kakkayam forms a part of Malabar Wildlife Sanctuary. Located in Kozhikode, Kakkayam, Peruvannamuzhy and Banasuramala are the lifelines of the inhabitants in Kozhikode district.  

The picturesque dam site, unique climate, the richness of biodiversity and gorgeous waterfalls of Urakkuzhi offers good ecotourism activities in Kakkayam. 


To Urakkuzhi Waterfalls

With a lot of waterfalls, camping sites and boating facilities, Kakkayam is a perfect place for a family outing. For the adventurer in you, the place opens it arms wide revealing some amazing trails that promise to take you to the hidden gems deep in the jungle. A walk to the Urakkuzhi Waterfalls is the most welcomed programme here.
