Ananganmala is a granite hill located on the Ottapalam-Cherpulassery road in Ananganadi panchayath in Ottapalam taluk of Palakkad district. While travelling in a vehicle from Ottapalam to Cherpulassery, one can see Ananganmala from a distance from Varod to Thrikkadiri. Ananganady derives its name from the place under the Ananganmalai, which rises to the sky with a blackened shape. This region, which has not been given much importance in the modern history of Kerala, can be seen to have had a great influence on the ancient history of Kerala.
