Location : Thirunavaya Navamukunda Temple, Malappuram
Located 12 km South of Tirur in Malappuram district of Kerala state, is the famous Thirunavaya Temple known as a centre of excellence for Vedic teachings, with Veda Paadda Saalas (teaching centers). Every year the holy ritual of Vavubali is performed at this temple, on the banks of Bharathapuzha. Vavubali is a holy ritual performed to please the departed souls. Thousands of devotees throng the banks of Bharathapuzha River to conduct the ritual. The rituals here start at 2.30 AM in the morning and it last till the afternoon. The temple is under the administration of Devaswom Board.
