The renowned Elanji Forane Church, dedicated in the name of Sts. Peter and Paul, is believed to be established in the 14th CE. History says that the church was built as per the order of the then Vadakumcoor king in the land donated by a believer. Three feasts are being celebrated mainly in Elanji church. They are the feasts of Sts. Peter and Paul, Dershanathirunal of Mother Mary and the novena of the Apostles. The feasts of Sts. Peter and Paul is celebrated twice in a year; that is on June 28, 29 and on the last Sunday and Monday of November. Special prayers and colourful processions are part of this feast.
