One of the most famous and ancient Churches in the Diocese of Palai is the Saints Gervasis & Prothasis Forane Church which is located in Kothanalloor in Kottayam district in Kerala. The church is believed to have been built in the very early period of C.E 826 by Persian Missionaries and is well known for its Twin Patron Saints, St. Gervasis and St. Prothasis. The church attained its Forane status on July 3rd, 2005. Every year, a twins meet is held in this church to commemorate Ss. Gervasis & Prothasis.
