Fahad Ahmad Bishara is a historian of the Indian Ocean and Islamic world, specializing in the economic and legal histories of transregional exchange, mobility, and empire. His work examines how law shaped everyday economic life across the Western Indian Ocean, with particular attention to merchant networks and global capitalism. Bishara is also interested in questions of scale and narration in global and microhistorical writing, and how we conceptualize law and capitalism in transregional histories.
