Prof. Pius Malekandathil is a distinguished historian and academic administrator with extensive experience in teaching, research, and institutional leadership. He has served as faculty at St. Thomas College, Pala; Goa University; Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady; and Jawaharlal Nehru University. He holds a PhD in History from Pondicherry Central University and has received several prestigious awards and scholarships, including those from the Indian Council of Historical Research and the Instituto Camões, Portugal.
A scholar of Indo-Portuguese history, maritime history, medieval urban history, and transmarine trade, he has authored numerous books and research publications and presented papers at national and international forums. Proficient in multiple languages, including English, Malayalam, Portuguese, German, and Italian, he is currently the President of the Trust and Manager of Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology, where he continues to inspire through scholarship and leadership.
