The Theyyam festival held at Cherukunnu Sree Keezhara Koolom Bhagavathy Temple is replete with the full variety of Theyyams. Special rites like fish offering, Kalasam, Dikkalasam and rice sprinklings are also offered to the deity as part of the festival. The temple premises are enclosed by a thick grove of trees as is typical of Bhagavathy temples. The temple is located inside the main entrance of a courtyard surrounded by walls. The primary deity is the mother goddess, Thirukkattu Bhagavathy, who is also known as Maadayikkavilamma.
