According to the songs of old, the Maadayikkavilamma, after changing her appearance and expression, installed herself in Kolaswaroopam. The renovated temple now stands protected by divinity. Visitors can reach the Kaavilapparambu (temple ground) via Mattul Pazhayangadi from Kannur. The Theyyams performed here are Chamundi, Puthiya Bhagavathy, Vishnumoorthy, Gulikan, Veeran, Veerali, Bali and Aaradhana.
