The story goes that the Goddess of Thulirvanam Manjadukka temple near Kaanjangadu ran off with the family head of Vayalil Purayil manor and established herself at this Devasthanam. The temple is at the Anjuthengu stop on the Kannur - Taliparamba - Pazhayangadi route. One can also reach the temple from Pazhayangadi via Palipparambu road.
