Surrounding deities were prohibited from the Iringal Shiva Temple premises. Thus they were brought from the Vayathoor Kaliyar temple premises and housed in the Udayam Kunnu temple premises. Along with Theyyam performances, ritualistic Poojas are held at dawn and dusk during the month of Dhanu from the 10th to the 20th. In addition, the Velichappadu (the sword bearing oracle) visits village homes during the Theyyam festival.
