This is the Devasthanam of one of the prominent Theyyams of north Malabar, Kathivannoor Veeran. The story goes that rain and stormy weather once washed away the pooja sheds and roofs during the festival at Thrikkaripur Manacadu. Washed away from his abode, the god ran off with a devotee who had come from Thekke Bazaar and installed himself at Thekke Bazaar. There is a popular belief that those who pray at this temple are likely to win any civil lawsuits.
