This is a majestic temple with murtis (divinities) obtained over the years by ancestors who performed as Theyyams. The Goddess is worshipped in the sanctorum of the Illam building. The murals on the walls of the temple are well preserved with little alteration to the original design. To reach the temple visitors can travel on the Payyanur - Kankol road by vehicle, disembark at the Papparatta stop, and walk down the Cheemeni road to the temple.
