The Athiyedam Palottu deity is said to have been brought by Chemmaran Panicker to what was then Chirambakkavu. The Palottu deity is believed to be the first incarnation of Vishnu. There is an expansive pond conserved near this temple. The temple is at the Aandam Kovil stop in Hanumarambalam on Kannur - Payyanur route.
