Pazhassi Kovilakam Valiya Thamburatti reached this temple by crossing the Vadakkumpadu. He was accepted with courtesy and worshipped here. Family heads of the local area conducted the temple pujas. This is one of the few temples that illustrate the practice of venerable family elders transforming themselves into Theyyams and thus becoming objects of worship. The temple has been renovated recently with the intrinsic beauty of the traditional colours.
