Sri Kakkunnath Bhagavathy Temple, located at Iriveri, is famous for the annual theyyam festival celebrated in the Malayalam month of Meenam (April), mostly falls from 22 to 24 of Meenam month. The festival is decided before the 25 of Malayalam month on Kumbham. It is one of the rare temples in North Kerala, where the Theyyakolam with black painted face wears a huge headgear.
