• Loan quantum: Upto Rs. 25 lakh
• Repayment duration: 42 months, including initial repayment holiday of six months
• Rate of interest: As per the Board approved policy of respective Banks
• Note: Interest subvention of 50 percent on the interest applied by the Bank for the first year of the loan subject to a maximum of 4.50 percent

Tourism Employment Support Scheme

• Validity of the scheme: 31.12.2020
• Loan quantum: Maximum of Rs.30,000/-per employee
• Note: As per the recommendation of the Employer, the branches can sanction the loan in three categories.
  Category 'A' - 30,000/- per employee
  Category 'B' - 25,000/- per employee
  Category 'C' - 20,000/- per employee
• Repayment duration: 18 months, including moratorium period of four months
• Rate of interest: 9 percent per annum
• Note: 6 percent interest will be borne by the Tourism Department and 3 per cent by the borrower concerned

Tourism Houseboats Support Scheme (THSS)

The scheme intends to provide a Financial Assistance to the houseboat owners so as to enable them to execute urgent repairs and maintenance to the assets.

Eligibility

Owners of houseboats plying in the backwaters of Kerala provided that they satisfy the following conditions:

1. Houseboats which have valid registration from the Port Department.
2. Vessels which have survey report from the Port Department with validity in between April 1, 2019 and June 30, 2021.
3. Vessels should have been ready to operate on February 29, 2020, but remained inoperational due to the fall in booking due to COVID-19. (Affidavit with self-certification to this effect to be submitted)

Financial Assistance

The Department of Tourism will be providing a nonrefundable Financial Assistance to the houseboat owners to get the vessels repaired and maintained.

Rate of finance assistance given below:

• Houseboats with 01-02 bedrooms - Up to a maximum of Rs. 80,000/-
• Houseboats with 03-04 bedrooms - Up to a maximum of Rs. 1,00,000/-
• Houseboats with 05 & above bedrooms - Up to a maximum of Rs. 1,20,000/-

Validity of the scheme: 31.03.2022

Note: A single entity with multiple units in the category of houseboats will be eligible for a cumulative maximum of Rs. 5 lakh for all the units.

Tourism Guides Support Scheme (TGSS)

One-time financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 to 328 licensed tourist guides - approved by Kerala Tourism and India Tourism - working in the State's tourism sector, subject to conditions.

Validity of the scheme: 30.11.2020

Eligibility

Following category of Tourist Guides are eligible:

1. Regional Level Tourist Guides approved by the Ministry of Tourism Government of India whose residential address is in Kerala
2. State Level Tourist Guides approved by the Department of Tourism Government of Kerala
3. Local Level Tourist Guides approved by the Department of Tourism Government of Kerala
4. A person can apply only once even if they are holding more than one State license
5. A person should not be having an alternate employment in state government or private firms

Financial Assistance

The Department of Tourism will be providing a onetime non-refundable financial assistance to the above categories of guides @ Rs.10,000/- per head.
