Aralam

Teeming with rare plants, trees and birds, Aralam calls travellers for an amazing encounter with the wild. Situated in the Kannur district of Kerala, this wildlife sanctuary lets you catch a glimpse of herds of elephants, gaur, sambar, spotted deer, barking deer, Nilgiri Langur, Hanuman Langur, Malabar Giant Squirrel etc.

The Department of Forest offers trekking and Jeep ride facilities till the Meenmutty Waterfalls or Ambalappara. Camping facilities like tents and sleeping bags are also available.

Do drop in during the butterfly migration season to soak yourself in the real hues of Aralam. The place is home to around 262 species of butterflies and 246 types of birds.
