Alapra in Kottayam

 

Alapra is among the most beautiful villages in Kottayam district. Located near Erumeli, it is home to the mystical Alapra Thacharikkal Bhagavathi Temple. Set amidst a dense forest, it is the only place in the district where the legendary ritual art form of Padayani is performed. Majestic views, luscious waterfalls and ancient caves add to the mystique of the place.
