    A science and space museum near Thiruvananthapuram, showcasing Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's life, contributions, and interactive exhibits on India's space and defense achievements.

    Located at Vellanad, one of the picturesque outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram, the Dr. Kalam Smriti International Science and Space Museum, is a hub of inspiration and learning. 

    Dedicated to the memory of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India, this museum showcases the "Misssile Man's", personal memorabilia of rare photographs, miniature models of rockets and satellites.

    Exhibits
    As you step into the museum, the statue of Dr. Kalam, greets you with his characteristic warmth and humility, setting the tone for the memorial intended to inspire future generations to pursue careers in science and space exploration.

    The museum houses numerous exhibits that showcase Dr. Kalam's humble beginnings from Rameshwaram, a remote village in Tamil Nadu, to Rashtrapathi Bhavan, the highest office of India, and contributions to India's space and defense programmes.  Various replica of rockets, satellites, and scientific instruments are the main attraction. 

    The photographs are carefully selected to provide a glimpse into his illustrious career, and his unwavering commitment to science and innovation.

    Galleries
    The galleries in the museum are designed in such a way that it provides an interactive learning experience, engaging visitors of all age groups. 

    Detailed models of rockets and satellites that Dr. Kalam worked on during his tenure at the Indian Space Research Organisation and the Defence Research and Development Organisation are displayed.

    Various instruments used in space missions and defense projects provide a hands-on learning experience for visitors.

    The displays allow visitors to interact with the technology and understand the principles behind space exploration and missile development 

    Space Exploration Section
    This section highlights India's major space missions - the Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan) and the Chandrayaan missions. It features detailed models, mission briefs, and interactive displays that allow visitors to delve into the complexities of space exploration.

    Dr Abdul Kalam was a prolific writer, speaker and motivator. The museum is adorned with Dr. Kalam's inspirational quotes and excerpts from his writings and speeches. The quotes are aimed at motivating visitors to "dream big" and "work hard" towards their goals.
