Kodi Cliff at Kottikulam near Bekal in Kasaragod district offers a dramatic meeting point of land and sea. The trail toward the cliff moves through open laterite stretches and coastal vegetation before gradually rising to a rocky edge overlooking the Arabian Sea. From the top, the coastline curves into the distance, with long sandy beaches bordered by dense green groves. The view opens wide and uninterrupted, giving a sense of height and exposure above the water.

One of the distinct features visible from the cliff is the pair of large sea rocks known locally as Pandiyan Kallu. These dark formations stand apart from the shoreline, surrounded by moving waves. Aerial views reveal the contrast between deep blue water and the textured rock surfaces below. Fishing boats move steadily across the horizon, leaving narrow trails behind them, while closer to shore, waves break against layered black rock outcrops.

The nearby beach area is active in the mornings, with fishing boats lined along the sand and nets spread out to dry. The coastline alternates between quiet sandy stretches and rugged rocky sections where the sea presses against stone. In the evenings, the atmosphere shifts. The sun lowers slowly into the Arabian Sea, casting a golden path across the water. The cliff becomes one of the region’s preferred sunset viewpoints, with the sky turning warm and the sea reflecting the fading light.

Kodi Cliff lies close to Kappil Beach and not far from Bekal Fort, making it part of a larger coastal circuit in Kasaragod. With its elevated viewpoints, exposed rock faces and sweeping sea horizon, Kodi Cliff remains one of the striking coastal landscapes in northern Kerala.
